Who makes New Year’s Resolutions and actually keeps them?! I was never good at it – so I don’t bother anymore. And this isn’t what this post is about – I skipped the whole “New Year, New Me” thing… so where did this Journey actually begin? Mmmmm… I don’t know… maybe somewhere between the first and last week in January. I’m not sure of the date but I’m thinking that my new Christmas Gift, “Fitbit Charge 2”, has been a motivator!
So… a month has passed now and I’m currently weighing in 9.7 lbs less! Hooray for me!!! You don’t mind if I do a celebratory dance do you? You can join in if you wish! What did I do to lose those pounds you ask? I just moved more! Each day my Fitbit buzzes to remind me to get up and move – sometimes I wanna yank it off and throw it across the room! Seriously tho; the little gadget has been a motivator and maybe just what I need!
Speaking of motivation – I’ve been following my cousin’s Facebook posts about her transformation since joining WeightWatchers, and their new ‘Beyond the Scale’ program, and I almost had to do a double take when I saw the change in her! Just amazing to see the difference in her appearance and the difference in her attitude and outlook on life. I’ve tried WeightWatchers Online before and ended up not using it – I’m terrible at tracking food so my money was wasted! But I can’t help myself! I had to sign up again! So there it is – in black and white! My accountability to all of you! My journey to getting healthier!
I plan to focus on losing 5 pounds at a time – setting small goals work for me! I know my journey will be a long one – I have a lot to lose! I’m not in a competition and I’m not trying to lose it the fastest way possible. I’m taking it slow and learning as I go. This point system is new to me and I’m hoping I can pick it up quickly – thank goodness they have the scan option in the WW App! It makes life so much easier!
So here I go into the month of February… setting my goals. Buying healthier foods and making conscious decisions… continuing on my journey.
